Nelspruit is situated in the north eastern side of South Africa. It is situated on the Crocodile River and is approximately 100 km towards the west of Mozambique and 330km from Johannesburg.
The history of this provincial capital of Mpumalanga Province dates back to 1905. It was founded by three brothers of the Nel family grazed their cattle around the area during winter. Nelspruit plainly means Nel’s stream. It became a meeting point for farmers and traders because of its fertile soil and water for the irrigation.
Nelspruit had its name changed to Mbombela in 2009 which means lots of people in a small place. Two airports are present in this city.
